Now here's some good news to you, our droid-loving American friends. The Samsung Galaxy S II monster of a smartphone will be landing on your shores next month. The confirmation comes from the president of the Samsung mobile division Shin Jong-Kyun, so you should be able to count on that.
The exact quote was "We expect to release the Galaxy S2 in the U.S. market sometime in August." This means that it might not even take to the end of the month as some earlier rumors suggested.
Of course, Shin Jong-Kyun didn't give any details of potential carrier versions or pricing, but those should be announced soon enough. The last thing we heard was that the AT&T version will have a redesigned exterior and that maybe the US carrier versions won't have their own names this time.
