The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active was announced last month alongside the Xperia Ray, but while we've heard quite a lot about the latter, the Active has managed to keep a low profile up until now. The water-resistant and dustproof smartphone has gone up for pre-order in the UK, courtesy of well known online retailer Play.com.
The price being asked is £229.99, and the release date is set for September 9. That's still quite far off, but if you want to make sure that one of the first Xperia Active devices in the UK ends up in your hands, you'll probably just head over to Play.com and pre-order one for yourself.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is, as its name implies, aimed at those with ‘active' lifestyles, where ‘active' apparently means ‘involving water', since it comes with a unique feature called ‘wet finger tracking', which makes the phone work perfectly even if the screen or the user's hands are wet.
