If you happen to like the Android operating system and playstation games, you'll probably like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. You'll be even more ecstatic to hear that you can get the device for half of its original price from Verizon.
Verizon claims to be selling the device for $99.99 with a new two year contract for its back to school sale, but for all we know it could be starting a price war with AT&T, who just announced they would be carrying the device as well. If you are unfamiliar with the Xperia Play, it spots a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, a 4-inch touchscreen with 480 x 854 resolution, a 5 megapixel camera in the rear, and a unique slide-out game pad which spots dual analogue sticks, a d-pad, and additional shoulder pads. The device ships with the latest version of Gingerbread pre-installed.
I am sure that more people will purchase the device due to its lower price, but if Verizon and Sony Ericsson wish to increase sales, they should try to improve on the Sony games available and look to provide a better gaming experience on the device.
