A week ago we told you that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (the similarly-named successor to the Xperia X10 Mini Pro) was delayed in the UK, with its release expected to happen sometime during the fourth quarter of this year, most likely in October. That information was based on the Carphone Warehouse listing of the Xperia Pro, which had October noted as the projected release time frame.
Those of you who are eager to buy an Xperia Pro in the UK may be in luck though, for the device may just start shipping a bit earlier. The Xperia Pro has showed up on Sony Ericsson's UK site, and the manufacturer is expecting to have it available in its online store in late September.
Now that may mean that Sony Ericsson's online shop will have some Xperia Pro stock a bit before everyone else in the UK, or it may also mean that the delay has gotten smaller than what it initially expected it to be. Either way, there's still a lot of waiting to do if you want this handset.
The price that Sony Ericsson asks for the Xperia Pro is £349.99. Of course that will net you an unlocked, SIM-free smartphone.
