Sony will stop production of MiniDisc Walkman devices from September 2011. So reports the Nikkei quoted CNet, Tuesday (07/12/2011).
Introduced first in 1991, the MiniDisc is an optical storage formats in combination with CD sound quality with the ability to record from cassette.
Although relatively expensive compared to portable CD players, Sony sold more than 22 million devices MiniDisc from 1991 until March 2011.
The emergence of media player with storage that has been embedded inside, especially the iPod, making portable music player with a removable fill plug (cassette, CD, or the like) from Sony's hit products.
