Over the past couple of days, we've heard increasing chatter about a white version of the Samsung Galaxy S II being on the way. First there was a listing at a UK retailer, then one in France yesterday. Thankfully, Samsung chose not to let this turn into a leakfest and decided to officially announce the white Galaxy S II.
The fact that it's white is the only difference between this and the original black Galaxy S II. However, unlike last year's Galaxy S or even the white Google Nexus S, this is all white. It's not just the back cover that has been painted a different color, it's the whole device, as you can see below.
The white Samsung Galaxy S II will become available in the UK on September 1 on all major operators and at major retailers (so a bit later than the first estimated time frame of mid-August). No word just yet on when it will make it to other countries and territories, but it's safe to bet it won't happen before the UK release.
As for pricing, Clove still asks £492 for it, VAT included. For that price, you get a SIM-free and unlocked smartphone.
